As in indian, it is harder to make friends as adults. For me support groups have helped and my friend from the US went to some two or three desi queer parties and met a couple of Indian people there. They hang out for festivals and meet up when there are desi parties. I think it is no different from how one makes friends if they are studying also. Unfortunately one has to make effort to find indian queer people, but some of them have cishet friends too who are quite accepting and dont care about his orientation.
